Daily Reading (27 April 2015)

What have you been reading today? Everything counts, from a novel-length fic to the labels on your washing!

Baseline Twitter, LJ, DW, email (oh man, the work emails today - so many), skimmed a few articles on climate-change-deniers, water use in California, a funny bit about the Pythons being goofy on stage in NYC, and am now nibbling at a chilling history of how the US "religious slogans owe more to corporate campaigns than they do to grassroots work." *shudder*

I read all my email. Not a great day for reading time, so at least that's something! I'm going to go read a short poem now before bed.

Today I mostly read the returns policy for the people that sold me a tablet that turned up DOA... *sigh* is it me, or do these things have an amazingly high mortality rate? In the last few months, this is my second DOA, and third failure.

Other things that got read are "Early British Computers", bits of; and a description of the Booth multiplication algorithm, and the heroically tiny* APE(x)C and CADET. (I seem to be on an "ancient computers" kick at present. Not sure why. Most of these things were decommissioned years before I was born.)
____
* tiny in relative terms, that is. Still more or less room-sized in absolute terms.
