Tried to read "The Martian," but was bored by the voice and gave up into chapter two. Now getting sucked into "Wolf in White Van" by John Darnielle. I finished reading "Rage of Ultron" and thinking of diving head first into the Spider-Verse crossover.
I recently read The Martian. I can see why the trapped astronaut's voice would be annoying, although I derived a lot of amusement from it as he reminded me of an amalgamation of people (mostly engineers) I work with. If you ever go back to it, it's worth getting to the bits taking place on the ground (Earth), if only for the insight into NASA culture. The author really did his homework there.
