Daily Reading (29 October 2015)

What have you been reading today? Everything counts, from a novel-length fic to the labels on your washing!

The research design paper for Australian Longitudinal Women's Health study, c1996-7. Some interesting commentary about the things they tested in the pilot study to try and improve response rates.

Twitter et al (which is very busy after last night's GOP debate), info on tape/paddle looms, emails, and a short MCU fic a friend just posted.

A post about sexism in YA. Very interesting.

Textbook. Also, The Chicks With Sticks Guide to Knitting, the envelope bag pattern. I want to get back to Dwelling on the Threshold but I might ought to prioritize Take Back the Economy since I told my classmates I was reading it. (One of the textbook readings is a vision for queer liberation that entails the end of capitalism. Okay, I am down with this, now what does that in the author's view look like? I mean, I can probably fill in that gap once I've finished reading Take Back the Economy...)

I am literally sitting here with nothing to do all day but read, art, and homework. (Off work all week for the community theater production I'm in—it's tech week; dress rehearsal was last night, first performance is tomorrow night—and there's no rehearsal tonight.) Why is it so hard to do anything but Netsurf?

After flipping through many books with different stitch patterns for knitting, I finally decided on one which suits the yarn I am using, and then settled in to watch Buffy dvds and knit.

Aside from that, mostly twitter and facebook.
