Since last report, I have read:

• Invisible: Britain’s Migrant Sex Workers by Hsiao-Hung Pai
• Several chapters of The Comfortable Courtesan (not an intended juxtaposition, but rather I’ve given up on The Lord of the Rings and this was next on the fiction list)
• The side of an actual cereal packet, while waiting for a four-year-old to finish eating breakfast
• Hop on Pop by Dr Seuss
• Are You a Boy or are You a Girl? by Sarah Savage and Fox Fisher
• Poppleton in Fall by Cynthia Rylant and Mark Teague (this prompted much discussion of why lions won’t make plain pancakes)
• Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson
• The 5 August 2016 edition of the Croydon Advertiser

That first one looks like a really good piece of investigative journalism. Would you recommend it?

I definitely found it interesting, and it taught me a few things I didn't know. I did find the style a bit odd in places, as the author was reporting verbatim conversations that she seems not to have actually been present for, which pulled me out of the text a bit. Overall though, yes, I'd recommend it!
