Wednesday Intended Reading Post

Or: what DIDN'T you read this week?

We all have things we mean to read, but never quite find the time, whether it's a bunch of unopened tabs, or an ever growing pile of books by the bed.

What's on your to-be-read list this week?

I read a Jill Mansell library book over the weekend and discovered I had two more in my to-read pile. I am very much in the mood for the sort of romcom fluff she writes, and this will be bonus two books off the to-read pile.

Also I finally started reading Ancillary Sword and fell asleep doing so, so that's hopeful for finishing that this week.

Totally failed to open my book (The Sixth Extinction) at all whilst on holiday. It turns out wrangling two under-threes, even at an all-inclusive beach resort, still doesn't leave any leisure time. So my goal is to read at least one chapter before the end of the week.

My LibraryThing, still, but more specifically, I've been lugging a few books to work and back with plans of reading them on lunch break for...probably a few weeks at least, now. Wait, no, I haven't had a couple of those checked out that long. Whatever. Hellenic Polytheism: Household Worship and The Wisdom of Hypatia (and a notebook and pen, so I can actually do the chapter four exercises this time), which I own, and The Wisdom of the Myths and Goddesses, Whores, Wives, Slaves, which are library books.

I did actually read a few pages of How to Decorate & Furnish Your Apartment on a Budget last night, but I also checked that out of the library last night, so it's not exactly "been intending to read this, haven't".

There's an article on handspinning cotton that I keep picking up to read and then get sidetracked. So there's that. I daren't glance at the to-be-read pile of books, lest I turn to stone or something. *g*

sympathies on the lugging books to and from work and still not reading them - I've been doing the same, and then sitting at my desk to eat lunch, and reading facebook instead.

Mine is "The Philosophic Roots of Ideology". I've given myself until Monday to read some, and if not it goes back to the library. Next on the pile are "Time Series in Psychology", "Lattice: Multivariate Data Visualisation with R" and "A student's guide to Analysis of Variance".

Actually, given that I'm home sick/doing an assignment, I should probably either read my study notes, or go back to sleep.

Facebook, and Dreamwidth, and email...

I did actually read part of a book on lunch today, the intro and first couple chapters of Devotional Polytheism by Galina Krasskova. But it's an ebook, not one of the ones I've been lugging around! And I hesitate to say I read this history of beads I got from the library, whatever its title actually is, because mostly what I did was look at all the pretty pictures.

My biggest thing on my to-read list is my massive pile of various newsletters piling in my inbox . . . I think I have to force myself to pare it down a little because right now I get so much email and never really read any of it. But I want to. I unsubbed from one list just now though since I realized I didn't really care for it anyways!

Oh, I hate newsletters in the inbox. They look so interesting, but pile up so freaking quickly!

Thanks! Still haven't managed it. Running out of time. :P

Also, thanks so much for keeping things going here whilst I was away.

Haha seriously! They've only piled up more in the meantime... I think I'm gonna tag, archive, and start over.
