Intended Reading (29th June)

What haven't you read this week?

We all have things we mean to read, but never quite find the time, whether it's a bunch of unopened tabs, or an ever growing pile of books by the bed.

What's on your to-be-read list this week

A novel written by a friend who's done editing the draft and wants to know how it reads to someone who's just looking for a fun ride. And the first few chapters of a novel being written by another friend, as soon as she sends them to me; that will probably be this evening because she has left for work since asking if I wanted to see the chapters, and of course I will be at work myself when she gets home.

Also Young, Sick, and Invisible by Ania Bula, which is about her experiences with disability.

And I should just buy a copy of Conscious Money because I haven't finished it yet but I am almost out of time on the library copy and I am out of renewals.

On my to-be-read list is a Miss Silver novel by Patricia Wentworth, more or less from curiosity - to check out a prolific mid-twentieth century writer, and to see how Miss Silver stands beside Miss Marple.

It's been something like 3 days, and I'm still not through Night Lights by Bonnie Shrewsbury Arthur. I keep falling asleep.

It isn't a bad book, I'm just tired.

I wanted to start Dark Money by Jane Mayer, but forgot to bring it on my trip. So: this weekend.
