I began the book about The Bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu (a bit stodgy so far), and I read a preface (by Julian Barnes) to Elizabeth David's A Book of Mediterranean Food, which was informative, clever and funny! And also inspired me to make her fresh tomato soup, but that's another story. :)
I had asked for (but not received) The Bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu for Christmas. Sorry to hear it's not living up to the promise of its title yet. Hope it improves!
