Reading Catch Up Post (15th December)

Hello Bitesized Readers,

It's been awhile. (Where did November go?)

Please feel welcome to use this post to share
a) anything you've read lately
b) anything you're planning to read this weekend
c) anything you're hoping to read in some as yet unidentified future when you find the time

Due to a recent car acquisition, i am now able to go to the local library! I haven't been yet but i am super excited. I don't have anything specific in mind but I haven't been in a few years.

I don't have much time to read right now because it's end of the semester so everything's coming due.
When I do get reading time I've been mainly reading fanfics over at asianfanfics.com. In professionally published work, I'm reading A River in Darkness (memoir about life in North Korea), season 3 of Tremontaine, and Lilih's Bt/i> by Octavia Butler.

Many new books have arrived in the mail -- I intend to progress at least one of these, and something already started!

What I have been reading is a somewhat random selection of ebooks that I have been acquiring from Bookbub/Instafreebie/the like (as well as some I've purchased) over the course of the year. Recommended are Sheila Finch's "Reading the Bones"; Sami Shah's "Fire Boy" (sequel "Earth Boy" is on the aforementioned pile of new books); Tansy Rayner Roberts "Fake Geek Girl" and "Please Look After This Angel".

That is an interesting mix of planned reading -- something for any mood?

Thanks for the good wishes. I've got a 5-page paper to write and six 1-page papers to revise by Tuesday, so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm about 3 weeks behind on Tremontaine - I can't keep up this year, but I don't have the patience of wait and do a binge read at the end. :)

over the past few months, I've mainly focused on getting caught up with the following series:

• the In Death series by J.D. Robb
• the Cara Gillian series by Diana Rowland
• October Day by Seanan McGuire
• Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews

I'm currently reading Caliban's War, the second book in the Expanse series by James S.A. Corey.

My main complaint about Fire Boy is the ending is a bit like running in to a brick wall. Given that the sequel is out (and I have a copy, because I tripped over it in an unplanned bookshop trip on Monday) I'm hoping that it will follow seamlessly on, and explain the way the previous one stopped.

I'm really excited about this post!

The last books I finished were The Bees by Laline Paull and Ice by Anna Kavan. Right now I'm reading American Wolf. Not sure what's next, there are so many books that I want to read.

This is exciting! My local library hovers between non-existent and hard to access :(
