Yesterday I read an actual book! Unto Herself: A Devotional Anthology for Independent Goddesses, published by Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

Tin Men by Christopher Golden, which arrived yesterday via Kindle pre-order. America takes drone technology to its logical conclusion and starts deploying remote-piloted robot infantry in order to intervene in even more conflicts, then wonders why everyone hates them more. The shoe hasn't dropped yet, but our heroes just logged on for their shift and the streets of Damascus are weirdly empty (if it was a western, this is the point where a tumbleweed would blow throw town and startle the kid into drawing on it). Heading back in for another session shortly.

Good read, but ended up being problematic, more on that when I do my next Currently Reading post.

Twitter and various news stories linked therein, lots of thrilling, engrossing bookkeeping work stuff ;), some recipes from Tastespotting, and some snark from Wonkette

I read lots of menus, as I took my parents to Worcester for the day and they need a coffee break about every 45 minutes.

You know, I'm not convinced I've found the best coffee in Worcester. It's all been okay but nothing stunning.

The cake, on the other hand...!

I read Tir-Na-Og (https://sites.google.com/site/thevillagelibrary/Home/discreet-phenomena/tir-na-nog) short story by Dave Hutchinson. It's really excellent, and I'm looking forward to reading the other stories he's put online.

I read and loved his novel Europe in Autumn and went looking for other things he'd written.

Part of a fic for getting back into writing it, some fic research/canon review stuff, part of the current novel to fact-check a plotpoint in the current scene, social media and email, bits and bobs of various fun books.
