Baseline social media stuff (DW/LJ/Twitter). Many children's books (to the toddler). Dabbled in The Economist. Guardian articles, particularly a lengthy article about the way benefits changes since 2010 have affected the poor and middle class. The personal stories were pretty heart-wrenching.
Lots of Highway Code and show me/tell me revision for the UK driving test.
Baseline stuff, plus a couple book reviews, an article on the genesis of Gamergate, and I leafed through a clothing catalog that showed up in the mail. Oh and in bookmarking a bunch of open tabs I had to re-skim each one in search of the right pull-quote.
Didn't I say? ;) It's the only manifesto I read this year - but then I did feel strongly enough to join the party a few months ago (and shouted at my local rep when they wobbled on the citizen's income!). But it still struck me; I hadn't expected so much *hope*.
You did say! It was because of your remarks on it that I skipped straight down to the postscript, which I then re-read three or four times just because it was such a lovely vision.
