What I really want to read: Zen Cho's Sorcerer to the Crown, but it hasn't arrived yet. *flails* This is the problem with still reading everything in dead tree edition, the reasons for which are many but the most important of which are (a) Amazon, boo hiss and (b) keeping electronic devices out of the hands of the toddler.

What I will probably read: Not a lot because we'll be out most of the weekend, probably more of Sir Stanley Hooker's Not Much of an Engineer before bed.

The nice thing about 'real' books is that they often smell nice and they look very good in your bookcase. Lastly, now you have something to look forward to! I love it when I am expecting mail or packages! :)

Sorcerer has an absolutely stunning cover so it's going to be a beautiful addition to the bookcase -- when it arrives! *impatient dancing*

The instructions for setup of my home Internet at my apartment.

...I got as far as "coax cable" and decided I require expert assistance. I need to go talk to Dad, he's an electronics engineer, he can figure this shit out when he helps me move furniture Wednesday evening.

I made myself an FM radio aerial out of coax which is actually a bit daft as I listen to actual broadcast radio approx once every Preston Guilds.

I'm reading Nelson: Navy and Nation and have just learned the origin of the expression "a chip on the shoulder".

It always surprises me how many naval/dockyard expressions are still in colloquial use!
