Keeping up with social media. Quite proud to have been through the newest issue of Nature in the bath last night; may attempt to do the same with The Economist. If I have energy, may attempt comfort-reading a novel, but as have been looking after a very sick baby all week, am mostly concerned with going easy on myself this weekend.
Hoping to finally finish Friedman's 'British Destroyers and Frigates' this weekend, which was my Christmas present to myself. 300+ pages of very dense engineering design decisions against the backdrop of WWII and Cold War. With some deeply buried, but utterly fascinating, snippets of general history, such as all British immediately post-WWII defence spending being aimed at 1957 as 'the year of maximum danger', when they seriously expected Russia to invade.
