How did your weekend reading go? If you planned on anything specifically, did you read it?

I read bits of Private Eye, the most recent two issues of The Economist and Nature. I was mostly off Twitter, but I've done a thorough Dreamwidth and LJ catchup.

I also read a lot of articles about Pokémon Go tactics and tried not to spoil myself tooooo much about Pokeémon evolution!

I read bits of Private Eye too, mainly because we have a pile of it in our bathroom. (I usually read it at least three or four weeks out of date, since that's how long it takes bob to put it there.)

I've been reading Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch, it took me longer to get into than the first book, but now I am enjoying it.

My computer had to do a check. I didn't expect it'd take 5 hours. While I was waiting, I finished Strawberry Panic 1&2 and Princess Princess vol 1.

My friend gave me their old manga.

Yay for manga! top-notch way to spend what would have otherwise been a tedious wait.

I keep meaning to re-read my collection of graphic novels (including some manga). One day...

I read a couple of newspapers - paper newspapers! - and two short fairytales and most of The Just City.

Excellent! I like reading paper newspapers. There's something very Sunday-afternoonish about it.

I read paper newspapers too, but on microfilm rather than on paper. I'd have much preferred to read them on paper...

I bet! Microfilm is much, much better than nothing but not nearly as good as a good (if unwieldy) broadsheet. :)

Over the past N days I have read:

• A series of LiveJournal posts examining Dorothy L Sayers’ Lord Peter Wimsey books
• Several chapters of The Lord of the Rings, in parallel with the tor.com LOTR re-read from several years ago
• Newspapers from the 1960s and 1980s, for my local history research
• The 11 July 2016 edition of the Morning Advertiser, while sitting in a pub

It's also uncharacteristically non-fictional! My fiction reading is being slightly held up by the LotR thing.
