We all have things we mean to read, but never quite find the time, whether it's a bunch of unopened tabs, or an ever growing pile of books by the bed.
What's on your to-be-read list this week

Date: 2016-08-03 04:28 am (UTC)most of a book that I'm reading slowly, for fun and may not finish - the very densely Romantic, set in 2073, published 1826, book by Mary Shelley, The Last Man. I suppose she began it in 1823, and set it 150 years in the future.
So far there's not much that's futuristic, though England has been declared a republic, and long-distance travel can be by balloons fitted with mechanical, feathered wings for direction and speed.

It should be possible to extend - renew - the loan. I will need my library card - got that - and my PIN, which in my case I do not have. I lost it.
I can still attempt to renew. It will be an adventure.

Date: 2016-08-04 03:38 am (UTC)Sometimes I take books back in case someone else might actually read it, and knowing that I can get it out again at some future point.
