I've decided to try to read some of the books I'm culling - I'm about a third of the way through Beyond Belief: excursions among the Islamic converted peoples, by V S Naipaul. I'm not terrifically impressed, though one chapter about the persistence of animism in Muslim Indonesia was very interesting. I'll persist, though, and then dump it.
The Stepsister Scheme by Jim Hines. This is the story of what happened after the end of Cinderella. I found it a bit hard to understand what was going on at times, and there were too many action scenes for my taste. I can see people who like action-adventure really enjoying this, though.
I read a bit (but not enough) of work related material, some basic refresher information on working in SAS, and the first 1/3 of a book (possibly titled 'The Watchmaker of Filigree Street'), which I bought at the airport after previously telling myself I wasn't going to read fiction on the plane.
