I skimmed through parts of Stephen Leacock's Afternoons in Utopia (1932) - a very mixed bag of a book, I thought - in part wearily sending up the "dream of the future" genre, in part using it for humour (the book was pitched as humour) and in part using it for political and economic manifesto. An interesting book, but I decided not the one I want to read just now.
On Tuesday I discovered a Diana Wynne Jones Deep Secrets which I had bought and shelved without reading about a year ago. Pretty good, although felt a bit too many ideas crammed in at some points. Finished it today.
I am one of the seemingly rare humans who loves and clings to my paroxetine. But the side effects when I was starting to use it and if I miss a dose are pretty awful.
I just had three doses and could not continue taking them. I must talk to my doctor about it. It made me feel absolutely sad. I even felt I was going to have a panic attack.
It increased my anxiety and sad feelings in the first two weeks... but now it's been 10 years and less than five panic attacks and overall anxiety down by 80% or more (currently experiencing no anxiety but environmental triggers still exist)... hence the thing where I say I love it and cling to it
I am so happy knowing that your overall anxiety dropped by 80%... wow. It must be painful in the beginning, I just don't know if I could bear it. I felt totally scared with all that I was feeling. Maybe I will have to give another try.
