How did your weekend reading go? If you planned on anything specifically, did you read it? (Reminder link to intended weekend reading post)

I struggled to find the right sort of book to read on Friday night, and ended up settling on Flashman's Lady. I'm not sure if I will continue it, I have some books on the way, and if one of those arrives it will probably take precedence.

I read bits of 00Q, went D'AWWW and angsted and laughed from the bottom of my heart. Oh fandom, you are my saviour. <3

And I did finish reading the second Riddle-Master book. Now, onwards with the last book!

I finished Waugh's Sword of Honour trilogy and read most of Keith Douglas' From Alamein to Zem Zem plus dipped into the complete Isaac Rosenberg

Despite ongoing battle with getting the kobo to keep working for more than ten pages, I've read another couple of 'chapters' of the current story (which I think is a novelette? part of a collection of stories, anyway). I hate it. If I wasn't reading it for a purpose, I'd be writing scathing reviews on goodreads.

Thanks. *grits teeth* It will be over soon, and I don't have to ever care about the author.

But oh, I wish that horror writers didn't default to 'let us have lots of really horrid people to make the point that this is a horrid story'.
