Hello, and welcome to Bite-Sized Reading! [community profile] bitesizedreading was inspired by [community profile] bitesizedcleaning and has been created to offer encouragement and support to anyone who loves to read.

Sometimes it seems like the only reading that "counts" is either weighty non-fiction or novel-length literary fiction. But those who love to read often have a diverse array of reading interests, from poetry to fanfic to newspapers to web comics.

This community is intended to provide a way to remind ourselves that all reading, whether it's short stories, articles in magazines, fanfic, Dreamwidth posts or the instructions on a packet of instant noodles, counts as reading. Sometimes we have the energy to read an entire novel in a day. Sometimes we don't have the energy or the time to expend on getting into lengthy written works. Here, we celebrate the reading we've done without passing judgment on the word count or the content. Please join us!

If you would like to help administrate the community or with Daily Reading posts on a particular day, please message [personal profile] nanila.

Have you found the time to read anything this weekend? Audio, text, or graphic; fiction or non-fiction; a sentence, a chapter, a book -- they all count!

Holiday Reading Review

Happy New Year Bitesized Readers!

Congratulations on making it through another year. I hope you managed to read some good stuff.

Here are some reflections on reading prompts for you. Feel free to answer as many or few as you like.

How did you make/find time to read in 2017?

Do you think you read more or less than in previous years?

What were your reading highlights of 2017?

Did you reach any reading goals in 2017?

What made up the bulk of your reading in 2017? (e.g. novels, stories, fic, non-fiction, articles, social media, work related texts)

Where did you do most of your reading in 2017?

If you exchange gifts at this time of year, did you give or receive any good books?

Have you managed to get any reading done over the holiday period?

Do you have any reading related resolutions or goals for 2018?

Intended Reading (September 27th)

What haven't you read yet this week?

We all have things we mean to read, but never quite find the time, whether it's a bunch of unopened tabs, or in a precarious tower of books by the bed.

What's on your to-be-read list this week?

Weekend Reading Roundup (30 August 2017)

How did your (last couple of) weekend(s) reading go? If you planned on anything specifically, did you read it?

Apologies for lateness of this and lack of previous week's postings. It was a bank holiday weekend in the UK & also I've been overwhelmed with work.
